Welcome!

Hello my wonderful students! This blog is for you and for your parents. On this blog you will find the weekly homework posted each Saturday. Each day I will post what we did in class and I will also post what I want you to study at home.

I know English is a hard language! But I also know that you can be a successful student if you keep on working hard in class and at home! I am here to help you, and I want to help you in any way I can. If you do a good job as a student, I am certain that you will have a wonderful time learning this language!

This blog is also for parents! I am starting this blog so that what we cover in class is much clearer and if you have any questions at all you can contact me directly. With your love and encouragement, students will be successful learners :)
Thank you so much for your support!

TODAY IN CLASS : FEBRUARY 9, 2010

WE HAVE STARTED ON “PREPOSITIONS”
Prepositions are a part of  UNIT 6, and I wanted to help students learn prepositions more clearly than what we have in the book.  I have given them more examples and worksheets to help them understand when to use “prepositions”

4A : HOMEWORK : FINSIH YOUR WORKSHEET
4B: NO HOMEWORK : The copy machine was not working, and I was not able to print worksheets.  Review your notes, we will do the exercises on the worksheet tomorrow in class!

IN CLASS : IN THEIR ACTIVITY NOTEBOOK : WE LEARNED THAT THE “PREPOSITIONS OF LOCATION” TELLS US WHERE SOMETHING IS!

We did an exercise called “Where is the apple?”

We drew an apple BETWEEN two glasses of water (BETWEEN and IN THE MIDDLE are Prepositions)
Then we drew an apple ON TOP of a book (ON and ON TOP are prepositions)
Then we drew an apple INSIDE a glass (IN and INSIDE are prepositions)
After introducing these prepositions with pictures, we wrote a list of some other prepositions.

THIS IS THE LIST OF PREPOSITIONS THAT I WANT STUDENTS TO STUDY:
1.      1.   ABOVE
2.  2.    AROUND
3.  3.    INSIDE
4.  4.   OUTSIDE
5.  5.   BETWEEN
6.  6. ON TOP
7.  7.   NEXT TO
8.  8. BESIDE
9.  9.   AT
10.   BEHIND
1  11.    NEAR
112.   BELOW
   13.   IN FRONT OF

Please study these at home!
